There are over 4500 requests for vaccines and not only for doctors and health professionals. In fact, the Vanvitelli University together with the Polyclinic Hospital has opened its vaccination campaign also to students and trainees of the degree courses in Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Health Professions, for a total of over 5 thousand young university students, who have accepted this opportunity with great enthusiasm. In fact, there are hundreds of requests from students and trainees to voluntarily undergo the first Covid vaccinations.

The vaccine in question is the one produced by the Pfizer (Biontech) company which has particular characteristics of composition and storage, so that a preventive adhesion is necessary in order to avoid waste. The vaccine will be administered in two doses 21 days apart.

The vaccine campaign only started on December 14, and in a few days the requests have registered record numbers. The first doses will be administered from January 12th.

"The response of our students to the vaccination campaign is of great value - comments the Rector of the Vanvitelli University, Gianfranco Nicoletti - Thousands have understood that they can seize this opportunity, and at the same time be able to demonstrate a commendable civic and moral sense. Of course, this is also true for our medical and paramedical staff, who in a few days gave an excellent response to our initiative. As always, the University and the Polyclinic Hospital cooperate in great harmony, and for this I always thank our manager Antonio Giordano, because it is only through this type of synergies that great results can be achieved ”.

"There are 4500 e-mails of adhesion to the anti Sars-CoV2 vaccination campaign launched by the Vanvitelli Polyclinic Hospital in concert with the University, explains Antonio Giordano, General Manager of the Polyclinic. An important response from doctors and healthcare personnel, suppliers of the companies that usually attend the hospital, technical and administrative staff of the Polyclinic, as well as from students of Medicine and Dentistry starting from the third year and students of the Health Professions Programme ”.

The vaccination centre will be set up in the coming days in building 3 of Cappella Cangiani, one of the structures of the Polyclinic Hospital of the Vanvitelli University, with large clinics and laboratories.
