The Vanvitelli University takes part once again in the University Corridors for Refugees - UNICORE 6.0 Project which aims to promote the right to higher education of refugees through the creation of educational corridors from Kenya, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe to Italy. The Project is promoted by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Caritas Italiana, the Diaconia Valdese, the Ministry of Foreign Policy and Italian Development Cooperation (MAECI) and several Italian universities.
The benefits of the 4 winners will be divided between the University and the Archdiocese of Capua and the Diocese of Caserta according to the following scheme:
The Vanvitelli University will guarantee:
- Study grant worth € 6,000.00 (six thousand/00) per year, paid in monthly instalments following communication of the Responsible of the Student Career Management Division.
- Exemption from payment of tuition fees for access to the University's Degree Programmes;
- Airplane ticket to reach the University from the country of departure;
- Psychological support and first medical assistance, through its own university structures;
- Support for all immigration procedures through the International Welcome Desk;
- Identification of a dedicated Buddy student to be selected among those enrolled in the same study programme chosen by the beneficiary;
- Free Italian language course.
The Archdiocese of Capua – Diocese of Caserta will guarantee:
- Board and accommodation expenses for the beneficiaries;
- Expenses for the purchase of textbooks and/or computer equipment;
- Introduction of students into the social and university life with a tutor who will accompany students;
- Support and expenses for the handling of documentation related to health and/or administrative issues (e.g. issue of residence permits for study purposes);
- Expenses for registration in the National Health Service;
- Expenses for the renewal of the residence permit for study reasons;
- Payment, to each student, of a pocket money of € 2.00 per day for small expenses.
