The Vanvitelli University takes part in the Volunteers for Education project organized by Save the Children. The project aims to recover the learning and motivation to study of children and adolescents, aged between 9 and 17, affected by the educational crisis produced by the Covid-19 pandemic. The project foresees that a volunteer, properly trained, will constantly support a child/adolescent or a small group in the online study.

In the first year of activity, the "Volunteers for Education" project supported more than 1,500 students, thanks to more than 950 volunteers. During this school year, the project aims to increase its activity also thanks to the contribution of volunteers from our University.

Availability required

To participate, volunteers are required to be available twice a week for of 1.5 hours each time (for a total of 3 hours per week), between Monday and Friday, in the afternoon (between 2pm and 6pm) for a minimum period of 3 months.

Training

All volunteers will be adequately trained through two training sessions to better support their students. The first, to be done on-demand, will last 4 hours, the second will last 2 hours in a live webinar and will allow a direct discussion with the staff and giving the possibility to ask questions regarding the project.
